After careful deliberation, we’re delighted to announce the winner of our first-ever Summer Cocktail Contest! We saw numerous creative submissions incorporating everything from agave to absinthe in fresh, refreshing seasonal sippers (read the comments here to see them all!). While we loved all the submissions, one stood out for its distinctive combination of mint, citrus, sweetness & spice. Congratulations to Pritha Gupta, who submitted the winning recipe for her Masala Mojito!

Here’s how she makes it:

“8 fresh mint leaves
3 lime wedges
3 small slices of jalapeno (depending on how spicy you want it, adjust it)
2 tablespoons of white sugar
1 can of club soda
1.5 ounces of any old rum!

Put the mint leaves and 1 lime wedge and 1 slice of the jalapeno into a glass.
Use a muddler to crush the mint and lime wedge and jalapeno
Add one more lime wedge and the sugar.
Fill the glass with ice
Pour the Rum in.
Then fill the glass up with club soda
Place the two slices of jalapeno on top (floating)
Put the lime wedge on the glass

And you are done!”
